End of year recap

Wow! It's hard to believe that 2008 is almost over and we have been full-time on the road for over two months. I have to say that time seems to go by faster that I think it has. It seems like a month ago we were hurrying to pack the RV to make our trip to Phoenix for the start of the Keep Breathing Tour. It has been over a month since the tour ended and we have been to Mexico, back to AZ, through parts of southern California, and just recently spent Christmas at Chad's sisters near San Jose.

We have served in an orphanage in Mexico and at the Bread of Life Rescue Mission in Oceanside, CA. At the Junky Car Club Rally, I was able to give haircuts to a homeless mother and her 8-month old son who live in their car in Costa Mesa, CA. We have met wonderful people along the way and continue to enjoy every moment we have together as a family.

It is very surprising to see people's reactions when we tell them that we live full time in a 34' RV with our children. We explain that we travel around serving people in need as well as sharing with individuals about the concepts of Share5. We tell them it is a way for individuals to be begin to see the needs of others around them, and that in doing so they have a transformation of their heart. An underlying goal of Share5 is to get people back to the place where we once cared for each other despite our daily schedules and lifestyles, to be aware of those around us that are in need, and to be leaders in their circles of influence by encouraging others to do the same.

With all that said, we are going to try to take some time off the road for the next couple months, (that is not driving every other day) to sit down are write out a book/curriculum on Share5 . I hope to update more (if not here on our share5 blog). God has give some great ideas to Chad on how to help get a couple wells drilled in Somanya, Africa. I will fill you in as time goes on.

5 weeks to Depature!!

I can't believe that there is only 5 weeks until Chad and I take off for Ghana, Africa. Knowing that it has been over 4 to 5 years since we wanted to go the first time, it's hard to grasp what reality is, the flights are booked and the visas and passports are in hand! Now it's time to plan what I will be doing with the school children and preparing for all the unknown things. I pray that God will lead me and give me wisdom in what the needs are and how to prepare. I am so excited that I will get work with the children and be able to be apart of their day. I am realizing that as much as I can mentally prepare, I still will not know what to expect until I set foot on African soil. I have dreamed many times of what it will be like, now I finally get to experience first hand. What will be needs of these children, some of them who don't have a mom or dad? I know it will be hard be not to cry when I see some of these kids, may God give me peace so I can minister in the way He wants. I look forward to sharing more with you when we get there. His Grace be sufficient in every way!

iQuestions.com in Orlando

It is so exciting to have been in Orlando for the launch of iQuestions.com, and being able to be apart of something so revolutionary as well. Where do you get safe and trusted answers? iQuestions in all video format all the time. iQuestions launched the site on Feb. 17TH from NRB in Orlando. We had amazing response from people that visited the booth. I got to talk to many people and show them first hand how easy it is to view great answers for leading authors from around the country. There were about 300 answers ready to watch in topics ranging from marriage, dating, parenting, intimacy, finance, career, and more. All answers on video! I am so excited about it, I could talk all day about it....OK doesn't the booth look unquestionably cool? It won first prize for best use of space and design. Not bad! It is not all about the question mark there are answers to follow...Lot's of good advice from trusted experts. I found some real helpful videos in parenting that I was having issues with in both my kiddos. You will just have to check it out for yourself. Oh, another really cool thing is you can email the videos to a friend and download to audio to your ipod for free. Thank you iQuestions for including me in Orlando, and for putting together a remarkable website that not only gives me comfort in being able to watch answers to questions that I really don't know who I would ask and allowing me to share them with friends!

Being 2! Let me do it!

How two seems to be an age when things REALLY matter! Emily found out she could do things that she maybe couldn't two months ago. On our recent trip this summer Emily figured out how to climb a vertical wall! OK, you may think that is a little extreme, but she was at a play structure made for kids. I did not say for two year olds though. She was so excited when she reached the top, I don't think she knew what to do with herself. Then of course the swing! We had to go on the "BIG GIRL SWING", it was just her mood at that time.










There was also the goose incident were Emily sat down on the grass to have a talk, well you can see it was an one sided conversation. How do you speak goose anyway?? squawk, squawk? Anyway, Emily decided that turning away by doing the pout, would solve the no talking issue. I wish that would work at home! Hey Emily, mom is turned and arms crossed, NO TALKING! Ah, no! Your right she would probably cry at that point.

Time for a game of duck, duck, goose I guess. How does it work again? Pat each other on the head and then chase each other around in a circle. Isn't that what dogs are good for? Pat them on their head and then watch them chase their tail. Our dog luckily does not do that! Emily loves to feed Abby in the morning, in fact if she does not get to take the cup of food and put in the bowl she yells, "no! let me do it!" Oh yah, we are independent now! Having to tell her sometimes that mommy would like to feed the dog - well, never mind...You do it Emily! I am so happy to have my little helper, independent child, and fun loving sweetheart. If there was a manual on how to raise a two year old, it would say. #1, ok, you can do it! #2, ok, you can do it! #3, ok, now let me help you do it!
